Exciting times
Opal's favorite winter activity has been going to the mall to ride the "round." For the longest time, Opal only wanted to ride on the bench with John or I, but lately she has graduated to riding the animals. She would only ride the horse above - nothing else. Every time she knew exactly which horse it was that she would ride. Big news though - the last 2 times we have gone to the "round" Opal has ridden a tiger, cat, and deer. Whoa, big stuff.
Opal has found a neighbor with a puppy and a big dog. This is "Chica" who Opal knows by name and loves. The puppy's name is Cedar. Another neighbor's dog is Lucy. And my boss' dog's name is Charlie. JJ's (my dad) dog is Henie. We talk about other peoples' dogs a lot in our house.
Opal has begun to enjoy being held like a baby again. She will ask to be held this way and likes it when we bounce and pat her. She thinks this is quite funny.
Opal is making great progress in peeing and pooping on the potty. Thanks to corporate America, we have a "Dora the Explorer" potty insert so Opal doesn't fall through the giant hole of the toilet seat. Opal has no idea who Dora is, but she can say "Vamanos" pretty well these days. The problem with no diapers is that toddler clothes are made to be big enough to fit a diaper in the butt of pants. Without a diaper, pants fall down. This is Opal with a giant paper clip holding up her pants.
No story here. Just a nice photo.
